I am a native of Southern California. After completing my undergraduate and masters graduate studies at Cal Poly Pomona, I did doctoral work at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. I then spent three years as a postdoctoral fellow at the UCSD School of Medicine. I love to teach and work with inquisitive students in the research lab. When I'm not in the classroom or lab, I spend time with family and friends and enjoy outdoor sports such as surfing.
